It’s official, the original Big Window is back and stays true to its foundational roots! After arriving on the scene in 1991, the Nike Air Max BW “Persian Violet” quickly gained cult and admiration within the music scene because of its timeless style and quality.
This latest version stays true to Tinker Hatfield’s original design which was adopted and worshiped by the Gabber and Hardcore dance scenes of the early 2000s. Years later, the shoe was also quickly adopted by the London Grime scene, making an appearance on the iconic “Dizzie Rascal”Boy in Da Corner“album.
The shoe itself comes with a soft mesh upper that conforms to the shape of its wearer’s foot. Unlike the original model, there is additional padding around the collar of the shoe, but don’t worry, there is still sufficient breathability thanks to the perforated mesh toe area.
From a comfort standpoint, things aren’t much better than this OG. A Plus foam sockliner lines the inside of the shoe with the iconic midsole air unit providing cushioned support.
Touches of “Persian Violet” color present around the collar, swoosh, and air unit contrast the silhouette’s black base with striking shades of white featured elsewhere. This striking colourway is truly a must-see for any self-proclaimed Nike lover.
The Nike Air BW “Persian Violet” is due out tomorrow, September 24th at 8:00 am on the SNKRS app, so make sure you’re ready with your notifications for it!
