Ibn Jasper x Converse One Star Release Date

Lupe Fiasco once rapped, “the reason I stole is Ibn Jasper.” For the uninformed, the name drop may have just been random, but for those in the know, it was a shoutout and touchpoint with a well-connected Chicago barber.

Over the years, Jasper has been linked to the likes of Kanye West and Virgil Abloh, serving as a friend, consultant, and “Master Barber,” as noted on his Instagram page. In 2018, the low-key character announced the launch of his own footwear brand, STRATICA INTERNATIONAL, on social media, which was part of the myriad of skate and motorsport-related content posted on the ‘gram. On May 20, “Ferrari Murakami” is set to release a Converse One Star collaboration that builds on the work he’s already done with STRATICA INTERNATIONAL. The low-top silhouette is reimagined with aggressive tooling, functional heel pull tabs, and a high-quality material mix throughout the upper. Together, each aforementioned component merges all the worlds Jasper and his team of tastemakers intermingle in. The color palettes of both Chicago Converse styles indulge in relatively classic tones, though checkerboard flags and other contrasting accents give the One Star pairs a refreshing touch.
