Nike went to great lengths to celebrate the Air Force 1’s 40th anniversary, creating versions packed with bold hues, luxe accessories and even toothbrushes. Here, however, the brand is toning things down a bit, emphasizing material and quality over bold colorways.
This pair is constructed primarily from premium suede, which is highlighted in Light Gray across much of the upper. The Swoosh and heel tab, however, opt for an equally luxurious cut of leather, as their somersault most clearly indicates. Next to it, the tongue label, which is embossed with the usual Nike Air branding, features the same material, doing it on a canvas spine and alongside neutral-colored flat laces.
