In addition to high profile collaborations, the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1 is expected to include online collections. Among them, the retro-inspired roster of the “Nike Athletic Club”.
Also featuring other Nike Sportswear classics like the Air Huarache and Air Max 90, the upcoming collection recently delivered “LT Smoke Gray” and “Hyper Royal” make-up on the low version of Bruce Kilgore’s famous 1982 design. High-quality suede covers most of the sneaker’s upper, with profile swooshes interrupting both the material and the color palette. The non-standard “AF-1” branding on the upper heel panel offers a bright blue tone reminiscent of athletic wear from decades past (i.e. varsity jackets). The name of the collection is embossed on the top of the tongue and on the insole, as with the other inscriptions. Underfoot, the soles are more reminiscent of the past with their predominantly “Sail” style.
