Denim is arguably one of the most iconic fabrics of all time. The humble five-pocket jeans and trucker jacket are Americana’s signature, a style that inspired Visvim, Wacko Maria and NIGO’s Human Made. And in the States, the material has never lost its appeal, and even sneakers – like this upcoming Nike Air Max 90 – have used it in some very interesting ways.
Although without Levi’s input, this Air Max 90 gets a relatively similar look to the beloved 501 and adjacent styles. A light wash denim is applied almost entirely to the exterior, dressing the mudguard, quarter, toe, tongue, and more. The embroidered Swoosh and heel tab stand out in a bold red hue, ostensibly reflecting the aforementioned brand’s iconic red tongue signature. As for the laces, lining, and midsole, all three are standard, only outfitted to complement the most interesting parts of the colorway.
