I’ve said it many times, but no words can ever fully express how much the military has bled into the world of fashion and sneakers. Outfits, such as BDU jackets, pants, etc., have become fashion staples, recreated over and over again by designers who have never served and will never serve. Nike uses these essentials for reference as well, with this upcoming Air Max 95 being just another product of that inspiration.

The shoe’s overall palette can be described somewhat as ‘olive satin’, although close but slightly different shades are also used. For example, a more desaturated olive marks the upper half, dressing the mesh, canvas, laces, and adjoining areas. The colors only darken as the yoke descends, stopping just short of the sole, which has a finish more akin to that worn when fighting in the desert. And in another subversion, a bright pink highlights Nike branding atop the heel, tongue and sockliner.
