Sneaker press release updates November 13, 2021

On Thursday, November 18, Jordan Brand and the Make-A-Wish Foundation shared the story of Jordan Carranza, a 13-year-old struggling with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). In July, he met designers from NIKE, Inc. with sketches of his own Air Jordan 1, which he outfitted with revolutionary FlyEase technology. While the sneakers are not being made public, they do promote the message Carranza inscribes on the pair’s lining: “Just because your [sic] disabled is not [sic] means your dream can’t [sic] to come true.”

As collaborations become more common in the footwear world, brands have pointedly devised strategies to make them feel special despite their ubiquity. AMBUSH, for example, appears to be taking the “retro for the first time” approach for its next joint effort: the 1996 Nike Air Adjust Force. Errolson Hugh, leader of ACRONYM, set out to reinvent the classic Nike Blazer Low, by infusing a technical component into the first Nike Basketball sneaker. For its work with adidas, South Park has kept things relatively tame. His last expression? : An adidas Stan Smith playfully replacing the legendary tennis player of the same name with the pre-teen, Stan Marsh.

As the world moves forward in all its facets in seconds, brands concerned with relevance, profitability and longevity must constantly think of the future. Always preoccupied with innovation, NIKE, Inc. recently shared one of the many ways it is preparing for what’s to come when it announced a partnership with Roblox, the online game creation platform. with 43.2 million daily active users. NIKELAND, a virtual world partly informed by Nike’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Ore., Allows users to combine sport and play with lifestyle, especially when playing on a mobile device. Additionally, the project introduced Nike’s full-fledged foray into digital consumer goods, allowing users to customize their avatars with Air Force 1, Air Max, and other sneakers.

Steph Curry, who has had a great start to the 2021-22 NBA season, and his Under Armor family have unveiled two new ventures under the Curry Brand umbrella: Curry Flow 9 and Curry Flow Go. The former, often referred to as Curry 9, builds on the legacy of the basketball partnership, introducing UA WARP technology. This latest shoe features many of the components that made Curry’s basketball line so successful, but modifies them for running. Both offers, however, further strengthen the legacy of the 33-year-old Golden State Warriors goalie on and off the field.
