Sneaker Press Release Updates November 5, 2022
As the top players in the sneaker space continue to churn out products, more rumors, reports, and other news have kept things entertaining.
In an earnings call that took place Nov. 9, adidas discussed everything from its struggling presence in China to terminating its partnership with Ye, formerly known as “Kanye West.” On the latter topic, the brand said it plans to sell name-brand Yeezy designs as early as 2023. People took to social media to scoff at the idea, but many were already wearing these designs with little to no Mark. directly link the pairs to Ye. The Three Stripes have over $200 million to recoup due to his decision to cut ties with the Chicagoan, so any plans will likely carry weight.
Far from the German sportswear giant, NIKE, Inc., New Balance, ASICS and Rebook were associated with a handful of compelling products. However, perhaps the most unexpected news of the week was the teasing of a good retro AVIA 880. The late 1980s basketball sneaker design was largely out of place for the majority of two decades, but the late Virgil Abloh was accused of copying the pair for some of his shoe proposals for Louis Vuitton. AVIA, however, is looking to tell its story the right way as early as January 2023.
For a look at all this and more, including Nike Air Max and JJJJound x New Balance pairs, check out our top hits from November 5-11 ahead.
