The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 celebrates rock and roll with its next “Cleveland Rocks” colourway

Earlier this month, Nike began its ode to Rock ‘n’ Roll, dressing the Air Max 97 with a number of embroidered designs. Here, with the Blazer Mid ’77, the brand continues its efforts in a way much more iconic to the genre itself.

Dubbed “Cleveland Rocks,” the colorway ostensibly honors the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, located in Ohio City. And unlike the exterior of the shoe, its insoles celebrate “The Forest City” with the text “216” and “CLE”.

Gone are the usual white leathers of the silhouette. In their place, dark denim wraps around the toe, profile, and heel, all of which are distressed in places in reference to a Rockstar’s beloved pair of jeans. Additionally, the Swoosh is inflamed and patched on the side side much like one would with a denim jacket or vest. Elsewhere, many adjacent accessories – sole, laces, medial control, etc. – are kept as standard, most opting for a neutral finish.
