2004 Nike Air Max 1 Crepe Pack Reappears With “Hemp” Makeup And Suede And Nubuck Overlays
The Oregon-based footwear brand is going all out to commemorate the 35th anniversary of its iconic Nike Air Max 1 silhouette this year. This year so far has seen the release of various new collaborations, general releases, and vintage retros. One of them is the “Hemp” edition of the 2004 Crepe Pack.
Nike defines the Air Max breakthrough as a revolution.
“Remember the revolution. 1987 saw the birth of the Air Max lineage, showcasing visible Air for the first time. What started as a cushioning experiment quickly became an icon on the trail and on the street. Over the years it has been redesigned and revamped, but the legacy still remains.
Featuring muted tones throughout, the “Hemp” shoe’s color scheme is dubbed Medium Brown/Mint Foam/Mushroom/Muslin, which looks similar to its predecessor. This shoe features the perfect balance of suede, nubuck, leather, and hemp of the same name used throughout the upper.
For starters, hemp toes are neatly contoured with mid brown suede mudguards. Adjacent to the hemp toes, nubuck overlays in lighter and darker chiffon shades are used for and around the eyelets. Here, the tongues are made up of beige tones identical to the hemp elements used for the shoes.
Towards the neckline, these tabs are finished with Mint Green Nike Air Swoosh branded tabs. The only color added to these monochromatic pairs is Mint Green, which is used on the Swooshes on the sides. The interior linings, as well as the insoles, are also perfectly executed with beige textiles topped with mint swoosh branded accents.
At the back of the heels, the buttresses are covered in muslin nubuck and brown suede. It is finished with an embroidered Nike Air Swoosh logo in Mint Green tones.
Rounding out the shoes, neutral-toned midsoles are grouped together with crepe gum outsoles below. These midsoles are incorporated with a much-loved Air unit, visible on the heels from the translucent windows.
